Silent Prayer of Preparation
God of mercy, we no longer look for Jesus among the dead, for he is alive and has become the Lord of life. From the waters of death you raise us with him and renew your gift of life within us. Increase in our minds and hearts the risen life we share with Christ, and help us to grow as your people toward the fullness of eternal life with you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Call to Confession and Confession of Sin
We confess, O God, that we do not live each day in the faith of Easter. We have been like the disciples, who saw life in terms of the suffering and grief of Calvary more than in the splendor and glory of the Resurrection. Forgive our times of doubt and despair and help us to look at life more through the victory of the first Easter. Let the power and love of this morning’s celebration transform us into new creatures in Christ, so that we get up each day with the conviction that something wonderful is going to happen because our Savior lives. Hear now the silent confessions of our hearts…
