Gathering

Silent Prayer of Preparation

Lord God, we invite your Holy Spirit to teach us new ways of understanding how you have equipped us to be different, yet of the same body. Help us to respect those differences as the unique languages of love, gifted to us as a means to reach others with your presence. We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever.  Amen.

Gracious God, by your Spirit you have called us to live as one body, the body of Christ—feeding the hungry and welcoming the strangers; healing the sick and comforting those in sorrow; seeking the lost and caring for the least. We confess that we have not lived according to your Word, failing to love one another as Christ loves us. Teach us to love and care for all your children. Fill us with your Spirit of compassion and joy; through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.  [Silent prayer….]
