B A C M requests that members bring in
Canned Soup
during the month of
March. Please
place your
donations on the table near the
parking lot door, the bag provided
in the Narthex,
or in your Sunday school
classroom.
As always, donations of
other items are welcome.
Your continued generosity is greatly appreciated.
In
addition the church supports the following specific mission projects:
Stock Family
Fred and Margie Stock and their five children have been bringing the good news of Jesus
Christ to Muslims and others in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Albania for many years.
Our church has been supporting them for over forty years.
Barberton Head Start
The Decker school educates the disadvantaged and special needs children in the area and
provides support for their families. Our mission work helps them to provide food,
clothing, and other special needs items for these people.
Community Tutorial Program
In conjunction with the local schools, we provide an after school tutoring program in math
and reading for those children with special needs. The assistance provides one on one help
in addition to computer based training programs.
Barberton Area Community Ministries (BACM)
This ecumenical organization was started by our church. BACM now supports itself and has a
board of directors including a director and members from the various churches in our
community. BACM provides food, utility, and housing assistance to those less fortunate in
our community. Our church provides assistance through board participation, food donations,
and volunteer hours.
Habitat for Humanity
Along with other Presbyterian churches in our area, we provide labor, monies, and food for
volunteers to build one house a year.
Playground
Our church built and maintains a playground for the local neighborhood children. |
